Susan
Reece, Ph.D.
Susan
serves as president of Dalton Spencer Consulting, Inc. and
consults in leadership enhancement, organizational effectiveness
and strategic planning process facilitation.
Susan draws
upon broad business expertise honed through operational, human
capital and international leadership roles along with her
passion for coaching executives to maximize the true potential
of leaders and their organizations. Susan guided leadership and
strategy development transformations in organizations at all
phases of the corporate lifecycle and in varied industries
including pharmaceutical, distribution, consumer goods,
manufacturing, and medical device.
Susan led
human resources as well as the corporate strategic planning
functions as the senior executive for over ten years. Susan
served as Executive Vice President of Human Resources for
Unisource Worldwide, Inc. and prior to that she was Vice
President of Strategic Development for Leupold & Stevens, Inc.
with responsibility for corporate strategy, human resources and
risk management. Earlier in her career, Susan managed all
aspects of the Human Resources function during her tenure with
GlaxoSmithKline in the US and abroad. Susan was seconded to
Japan and held responsibility for the Human Resources function
as well as expatriate affairs and she consulted with corporate
Human Resources in the UK. Susan directed Organizational
Effectiveness for St. Jude Medical including integration
activities for acquisitions. In addition to her senior
leadership roles, Susan has taught Business Strategy in the MBA
program at Portland State University and has consulted in a
variety of industries in the areas of business strategy, as well
as organization and executive development.
She is a
licensed industrial/organizational psychologist with a PhD from
the University of Georgia. Susan’s extensive business education
was acquired at the London Business School, Duke University and
the University of North Carolina.
Susan is
the creator of the Dalton Spencer Strategy Preference Indicator©
. Her speaking engagements include the MKG Financial Hour radio
show, the Oregon Leadership Summit, and the Pacific Northwest
Human Resource Strategic Forum. Susan’s article, Strategic
Thinking. Learn to Optimize its Power, was published in the
January 2008 edition of Leadership Excellence.
In
addition, Susan has provided leadership through voluntary
service. She served as the founding chairperson of the
Manufacturing-21 Coalition, a public/private partnership focused
on job sustainability and manufacturing excellence in Oregon.
She has served on the Board of Directors of Ethos, the School of
Business Administration at Portland State University, the Oregon
Workforce Investment Board and as Treasurer for the Oregon
Coalition of Healthcare Purchasers.
Kevin
R. Hummel, Ph.D.
Kevin has more than twenty years of consulting experience, often
focusing on how best to identify, develop, deploy and inspire
talent in organizations to create competitive advantage. He has
worked with senior staff in numerous organizations to build and
implement successful management practices, and he brings an
ideal blend of technical expertise and practical experience to
these engagements. His experience spans many industries,
including Retail, Insurance, Professional Services, Publishing,
Utilities, Restaurant, Education, Communications, Healthcare,
Life Sciences, Technology, Financial Services, Hospitality,
Entertainment, Manufacturing, Consumer Services and Consumer
Goods. His clients range from small privately owned
organizations to some of the largest companies in the world,
from new ventures and start-ups to well-established global
operations, and from not-for-profit organizations to Fortune 50.
All of these organizations have at least one aspiration in
common -- maximizing performance through people.
Kevin
consults regularly in the area of leadership enhancement, where
he concentrates on executive assessment and feedback, management
coaching, succession planning, senior staff teamwork, and
executive selection. He also works with companies to clarify
their business priorities and identify what is needed to
maximize organizational performance, primarily through
organizational diagnostics, change readiness assessments, and
competency-based research and applications. All of his work
starts with a thorough understanding of the clients’ business
challenges, and a focus on the strategic business needs of those
organizations.
Kevin
Hummel is founder and owner of Lighthouse Consulting Group,
Inc., a business consulting firm that provides advisory services
and solutions to senior management regarding organizational
effectiveness. Kevin also held senior roles in two international
management consulting firms, Hay Group and Towers Perrin. His
responsibilities included major client and project management,
consulting practice leadership, consulting staff management,
intellectual capital development, and business development --
all on a national and worldwide scale. Before that, he worked
for BellSouth Corporation in both human resources and field
sales management.
Kevin
holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Furman University,
earned MS and Ph.D. degrees in industrial/organizational
psychology from the University of Georgia, and is a licensed
psychologist.
